Moira Shire Council recognises the achievements of individuals and groups and the exceptional contribution, hard work and determination within the community who inspire us all through the District Town Australia Day Awards.
The following section outlines the selection criteria for each award category. Please ensure a response is provided for each of the relevant criteria in your nomination, which will go before the selection panel. The most outstanding nominee will be chosen for each category by the District Town Australia Day Committee panel within the district nominated.
Nominations close on 21 November 2026.
Important Information
- A Nomination Form is required for each Nominee – if there are 2 categories being nominated than an individual nomination form is required for each. Permission from the Nominee is required and information provided is to be accurate.
- The district town Australia Day Committee selection panel reserves the right to move nominations to a category they deem to be more appropriate and in the instance of only one nomination being received it may be rolled over into the next year’s process.
- The final decision of Moira Shire Council Australia Day Awards process is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Unsuccessful nominees may be re-nominated in subsequent years.
- All nominees will be invited to attend their local district town event on 26 January 2026 by the organising town committee.
- Please Note: The Moira Shire Community Achiever Award Nominations will be advertised from 1 February, you may elect to include this nominee for these awards by duplicating this nomination - cut and paste etc.
